Authorities in Sheldon, Vermont, have provided new information regarding a deadly vehicle accident that occurred on Friday night, resulting in the death of a local resident.

The Vermont State Police reported that the incident took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. when 21-year-old Jacob King was driving along Vt. Route 78. He reportedly lost control of his vehicle, which subsequently struck a tree.

Tragically, King was pronounced dead at the scene. Two individuals who were riding as passengers in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and were treated by emergency personnel before being released. Initial investigations suggest that speed may have contributed to the severity of the accident, and conditions on the road were affected by some snowfall.
