Emergency services have closed River Street (Route 123) at its junction with Route 12A due to a water rescue operation taking place in the Cold River. Various agencies, including local fire departments and emergency medical services, are actively engaged in the rescue attempt.

While on-site personnel could not provide statements, the Deputy Fire Chief from Keene indicated that the water rescue team was called in following reports of an individual in distress in the water. Further inquiries were directed to New Hampshire State Police and New Hampshire Fish and Game, with the latter agency choosing not to issue comments at this time.

Response teams at the scene comprise units from Alstead, Langdon, Cheshire EMS, Walpole, and North Walpole, along with representatives from New Hampshire Marine Patrol and N.H. Fish and Game. A DHART medical helicopter is also part of the operation.

This situation is still evolving, and additional details will be published as they become known.
