Rutland Man Accepts Guilt in Fatal Drunk Driving Incident

A man from Rutland has entered a guilty plea in connection with a fatal DUI incident that occurred in August of 2022. The incident involved Brett Senif striking and fatally injuring Chelsea Sikora, who was 42 years old and residing in Rutland, as she attempted to cross Route 7 near Cold River Road.

Authorities determined that Senif was under the influence of both cannabis and alcohol at the time of the accident. His blood-alcohol concentration was nearly three times higher than the permitted limit.

Following his guilty plea, it has been decided that Senif will serve a sentence of weekends in jail for a duration of one year, in addition to five years of probation.
