New York Man Arrested Following Knife Assault Incident

Following the incident, Lemert was treated for injuries sustained while breaking the glass and during the confrontation before being taken into custody.

A 20-year-old man from New York has been detained on charges related to a knife assault that took place at a residence on Saturday morning, with a judge denying him bail.

Authorities from the Brattleboro Police Department reported that they received calls around 8 a.m. regarding a man displaying aggressive behavior, which included shouting, banging on a door, and breaking glass. Prior to the police arrival, Julian Lemert, the suspect, had escaped from the scene.

Investigations indicate that Lemert first threw a rock against the victim's door, later breaking the glass with his hands. This led to a short physical struggle during which he allegedly brandished a knife in a threatening manner towards the victim. Although the victim sustained minor injuries, they did not require immediate medical intervention. Following the incident, Lemert was treated for injuries sustained while breaking the glass and during the confrontation before being taken into custody.

Lemert's next court appearance is set for Monday in the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division. The police have emphasized that the claims against Lemert remain unproven in court, and he is presumed innocent until a verdict is reached.
