A 23-year-old woman from Charlestown, New Hampshire faces serious felony accusations in Vermont linked to online child sexual exploitation. The Vermont Attorney General’s Office recently detailed that Alysha Devoe, who previously resided in Rutland, Vermont, was arraigned in the Rutland Criminal Division of the Vermont Superior Court. She is charged with one count of utilizing a child in a sexual performance and one count related to possessing child sexual abuse material.

This case is a result of a thorough investigation by the Vermont Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which comprises multiple agencies, including personnel from the Attorney General’s office. The inquiry was initiated upon receiving a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children via the CyberTipline, triggered by a social media platform’s alert regarding an image believed to showcase child sexual abuse material uploaded from a device.

In the course of their investigation, officials executed search warrants and followed up with investigative techniques that they claim connected Devoe to both the possession of the image and the alleged exploitation of a child.

During her court appearance, Devoe pleaded not guilty to the felony charges. Bail was set at $5,000, granted on an unsecured basis, and specific conditions were placed on her release. These conditions include restrictions on her interactions with the alleged victims, as well as limitations on contact with minors.

The Vermont Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force specializes in tackling issues surrounding the online sexual exploitation of children. Their efforts include not just investigations, but also providing forensic analysis, offering technical support to law enforcement, and offering training and public education initiatives. Authorities urge anyone who suspects online exploitation of minors to report it. Concerns can be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline, either via phone at 1-800-843-5678 or through their online platform.
