Devin Rice, aged 19, has been charged with six counts of first-degree assault, classified as felonies. Incident reports indicate that he may have intervened in an attempt to protect another relative during a heated argument.

On Monday evening, law enforcement responded to a residence where a man was discovered suffering from severe stab wounds to various parts of his body. He was transported to a local hospital for emergency surgery and is anticipated to make a full recovery.

Court documents suggest that the confrontation escalated when a man and a woman began arguing intensely, leading to physical aggression. At one point, the man reportedly attempted to restrain the woman, which may have involved efforts to choke her. Following this, Rice allegedly intervened with a knife and inflicted multiple stab wounds on the older man.

Authorities revealed that the entire incident was captured on surveillance cameras within the home, and family members have been forthcoming with their accounts to the police. A police sergeant remarked on the situation, describing it as unfortunate, noting that the complete family dynamics and the underlying causes of the altercation remain unclear.

Devin Rice is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
