Authorities have announced the apprehension of a suspect linked to a lengthy investigation surrounding burglary incidents in Mont Vernon. The inquiry started in December 2023 when a resident from Old Amherst Road reported the theft of two firearms during a break-in, one of which was retrieved shortly afterward.

In June 2024, law enforcement issued arrest warrants for Jackson Piscopo, who was ultimately located and taken into custody last week. Investigators have indicated that they do not perceive the burglary as a random act.

Efforts to track a second individual tied to the incident are ongoing, with sources suggesting that this person, believed to be assisting Piscopo, was last seen in Pennsylvania.
