A Springfield man has been detained by Brattleboro police after an incident of burglary on Wednesday afternoon involving a residential break-in on Chase Street. The police responded to a report around 1:05 p.m. on January 21 regarding someone unlawfully accessing a vacant property.

Upon their arrival, officers witnessed an individual trying to exit the front door in a hurry. The man was promptly apprehended and identified as 44-year-old Jason S. Moul. Investigations revealed that a small amount of cash had been taken from the house during the break-in.

At the time of this incident, Moul was reportedly in violation of court-ordered conditions that prohibited him from being present in Windham County. As a result, he has been charged with multiple offenses, including burglary, resisting arrest, and violating the terms of his release. Following his arrest, Moul was held at the Brattleboro Police Department on a bail set at $50,000, with plans for his arraignment in Windham County Superior Court on the following Thursday.
