On Wednesday morning, several areas in New Hampshire experienced hazardous road conditions due to a combination of snowfall and a wintry mix. This led to numerous incidents, including spinouts and crashes; fortunately, there were no severe injuries reported from these events.
A significant accident occurred when a dump truck overturned on Route 16 in Wakefield, resulting in injuries. In addition, a vehicle was observed off the road on Route 101 close to Exit 8.
Before dawn, a team traveling in WMUR’s Storm Tracker noted that both Interstate 93 north and Interstate 89 north were slick and had slushy patches. While Route 101 initially faced challenging conditions, reports indicated that by 9 a.m., the situation had begun to improve, although some slippery areas persisted.
Drivers experienced slower speeds on state highways packed with ice, and continued plowing efforts meant maintaining cautious speeds was essential. Motorists were advised to provide ample space for plow trucks and expect delays, particularly on side streets, state routes, and highways.
