A significant fire incident occurred at a residence on Sprague Lane Thursday morning, prompting a response from multiple fire departments in the region. Emergency services were notified shortly after 10:15 a.m., according to reports from the Southwestern New Hampshire District Fire Mutual Aid.

The fire, initially reported on the upper level of the house, quickly ascended into the attic, leading to the issuance of a second alarm as firefighters from several communities, including Swanzey, Keene, Marlborough, Troy, and Jaffrey, rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, crews observed flames and smoke emanating from the attic area.

At the time of the blaze, a homeowner and two other individuals were present in the house along with two pets. Fortunately, all occupants were able to evacuate safely without injuries. The presence of smoke and flames was noted as early as 10:40 a.m., and firefighting efforts ultimately allowed the situation to be reported as under control by approximately 11:17 a.m.

Amid the firefighting efforts, it was indicated that there might have been a partial ceiling collapse on the second floor. The total extent of the damage remains unclear, and an investigation into the fire’s cause is currently underway.

This event marks a coordinated operation among local fire departments, highlighting community collaboration in emergency response. Further updates will be sought as the situation develops.
