
The Brattleboro Police Department reported the arrest of a local man following an incident that raised serious allegations. On the evening of January 6, emergency personnel were dispatched to the Travelodge on Putney Road in response to a report regarding an unconscious female. Upon arrival, officers began to gather details that suggested the possibility of a sexual assault.
Following initial findings, a detective was called in to delve deeper into the unfolding situation. This investigation culminated in the apprehension of 52-year-old Bankim Aghera, who now faces charges of both sexual assault and aggravated assault.
The woman involved in the incident was taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, where she remained under medical care. Aghera is being held on bail and is expected in court for his arraignment on January 7.
