Janoo articulates her motivation for running, expressing a desire for a more hopeful future for Vermont. She believes that many residents are facing challenges in affording to live in their own communities due to rising costs in housing, healthcare, and basic necessities. Janoo envisions an economy that truly serves the needs of its citizens and empowers local communities.
Janoo’s educational background includes attending Macalester College, where she pursued her studies before becoming a Fulbright researcher. She furthered her education in development economics at the University of Cambridge, gaining diverse experience working with various governments and international organizations, including the United Nations.
