The American Civil Liberties Union of New Hampshire has initiated legal action under the Freedom of Information Act targeting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This lawsuit, filed on Thursday, responds to ICE’s lack of response regarding a document request related to the training of officers from thirteen law enforcement entities across New Hampshire.
According to the ACLU, there is a necessity for transparency concerning the methodologies these departments utilize in enforcing federal immigration laws. Among the agencies implicated in this matter are the New Hampshire State Police and the sheriff’s offices located in Belknap, Grafton, Hillsborough, and Rockingham counties.
