The Green Mountains will soon host an exciting edition of the classic board game, Monopoly, as it embraces the unique charm of Stowe. This new version will shift the focus from traditional spaces like Park Place and Vermont Ave. to reflect the local businesses and significant landmarks that define the town.

The inclusion of a customized community chest, chance cards, and play money will enhance the game’s local flavor. TopTrumpsUSA is known for creating regional adaptations of the beloved game across the United States, and its sales executive emphasized the importance of engaging with local establishments to curate an authentic experience.

Lindsay Wallace from TopTrumpsUSA noted that the initiative began with them reaching out to Stowe, rather than the other way around. She expressed admiration for the town’s sense of community and local pride, which made it a prime candidate for such a project.

Frederick Guerra, a long-time resident of Stowe, expressed his hope that this game will elevate Vermont’s visibility on a larger scale. Illustrating the state’s lesser-known status, he recalled instances when people have mistaken Vermont for a part of Canada.

The search for local businesses to feature on the board is currently underway, with the official unveiling of Monopoly: Stowe Edition scheduled for January of the upcoming year.
