Timothy Wooster, aged 45 from Jericho, faced court proceedings on Thursday concerning a tragic wrong-way accident on Interstate 89 that resulted in a fatality in December. He pleaded not guilty to various charges, which include second-degree murder linked to the death of 21-year-old Hailey Westcot.
Law enforcement reports detail that Wooster drove approximately 1.5 miles in the wrong direction before colliding head-on with Westcot’s vehicle in Bolton. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries at the accident site.
According to court documents, Wooster expressed to police that he had been feeling unwell and fatigued during the drive. Authorities noted that there was no indication of impairment at the time of the incident.
Following the court appearance, Wooster was granted release under certain stipulations, which included an unsecured appearance bond of $50,000. This means he is responsible for this amount should he not attend his forthcoming court hearing, scheduled for the next month.
