On Tuesday, the community of Marlboro made the decision to close Marlboro Elementary School, with 311 residents supporting the action and 65 against it.

Currently, the school serves only 52 students, with the biggest class comprising eight children. The closure will become effective at the conclusion of June, and the affected students will be redirected to schools in neighboring areas.

In addition to the school closure, locals also approved the proposed school budget during the same vote. This decision takes place amidst a broader evaluation of educational expenses throughout Vermont.
