Keene Breakfast Spot to Begin Refunds for Recent Gift Card Purchases

The Yellow Bell Cafe, located at 45 Main St. in Keene, has ceased operations as of this week. The establishment, which started serving customers in March, was closed by owner Adam Berube, who informed his patrons of the decision through the business’s social media channels, which are no longer active.

In correspondence sent on Wednesday, Berube confirmed that customers who purchased gift cards within the last month would be eligible for refunds. Patrons interested in reclaiming their funds can reach out via email to info@yellowbellkeene.com for assistance regarding the refund process.

However, Berube clarified that he is unable to process refunds for vouchers sold through the Save Local Deals promotion associated with Monadnock Media Group. These vouchers were made available for purchase monthly from October to January, as stated by a representative from the media group. Clients wishing to recover money for these vouchers must submit their claims through the local deals website, as it serves as the third-party vendor managing these transactions.

Berube indicated that the closure of Yellow Bell resulted from escalating costs related to food, labor, and other business operations. He explained that despite efforts to curtail expenses and boost profitability, the restaurant faced significant losses each month, making the situation untenable.
